Technology Challenge two hour workshop for Years 1 and 2, up to 30 pupils per workshop.
This is a ‘hands on’ workshop using two different construction kits to build vehicles with fixed axles, and remote control devices with caterpillar tracks. All pupils use spanners and screw drivers to design and make a vehicle and then test their design round an obstacle course using a remote control device.
The focus of each workshop is to design and make a remote control truck or crane to move round a construction site.
All resources, tuition and equipment are provided.

The teacher will arrive at 9.30am.
The first workshop is from 9.45am to 12.00 allowing for a short break. Teaching will take place in the classroom from 9.45am to 11.00am followed by a session from 11.00am to 11.30am in a large indoor space or hall and then in the classroom again from 11.30am to 12.00.
The second workshop will be from 1.00pm to 3.15pm allowing for a short break, with a different group of Year 1 or 2 pupils. Teaching will take place in the classroom from 1.00pm to 2.15pm followed by a session from 2.15pm to 2.45pm in a large indoor space or hall and then in the classroom again from 2.45pm to 3.15pm.
